Abstract

EtherCAT is a standard protocol for automation, widely used in the industry but also in scientific facilities. EBPFCat is a free and open source project, which allows EtherCAT masters to be written and used on standard Linux computers, without any need of commercial software or Linux kernel modifications. Real time reliability is achieved by injecting ePBF programs into the Linux kernel, which verifies the program for correctness
