European XFEL seeks to provide intense THz and mid-IR radiation in combination with X-ray pulses at all SASE beamlines & instruments. Two major technical approaches are considered in achieving this goal: an accelerator- and laser-based THz generation scheme. Below we summarize the actual status and provide an outlook of the THz activities within the R&D project focused on laser-based THz generation at EuXFEL. These activities are hosted in the R&D lab of the Lasers group (LAS).
