Abstract
Superconducting undulators can produce higher peak fields than permanent magnet undulators for the same geometry, enabling increased brilliance and tunability of photon sources. This contribution describes the program for developing superconducting undulators (SCUs), which has been established at the European XFEL. The program focuses on the development of advanced SCU coils, including those wound with high-temperature superconducting tapes, as well as the implementation of NbTi-based SCUs, successfully operating in storage rings, into the European XFEL facility.
