Abstract
The 15th International Synchrotron Radiation Instrumentation Conference (SRI 2024) finally took place from 26 to 30 August 2024 and was back in-person in Hamburg (Germany), where the conference series started in 1982 at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the last conference SRI 2021 could only be organized online in 2022. However, this time the conference was fully in-person in the fantastic location of the Congress Center Hamburg and accompanied by superb weather throughout the entire week. It was therefore a good decision made by the International Advisory Committee (IAC) back in 2022 to give DESY and European XFEL the opportunity to organize the conference in-person and also show what Hamburg can offer including visits to the unique synchrotron radiation facility PETRA III for hard X-ray photons and the soft X-ray free-electron laser FLASH at DESY as well as the hard X-ray free-electron laser European XFEL
