Transient absorption spectroscopy is used to characterize the ultrafast spin-transfer process in single crystal iron(II)-tris(bipyridine)-bis(hexafluorophosphate). Preliminary data analysis shows evidence of the formation of a high spin state and oscillatory signals on multiple time scales.
