Abstract

Extremely high peak brilliance and MHz repetition rates of X-ray pulses produced by the European X-ray Free-Electron Laser (EuXFEL) facility present very demanding requirements to beam conditioning optics. In particular, optical components exposed to pink SASE beam, such as collimating/focusing CRLs, slits, monochromators and mirrors, must withstand extreme heat loads and maintain positional stability of the beam delivered to the experiment. Here, the beam transport optical components of the MID instrument at EuXFEL, including CRL transfocator units, power slits, monochromators and dual X-ray mirror are outlined.
