A wide range of optical laser pulses will be available for experiments at the SCS Instrument. Here we describe the laser source developed by the Optical Laser Group and the how the optical laser pulses are brought to the experiment, including a number of frequency conversion steps covering, potentially, the UV, visible through to the IR and THz. Recent measurements of relative time arrival between X-ray and optical laser are also presented and discussed.
