Requirements and concept for the characterization of photon beam temporal properties at the SQS scientific instrument of the European XFEL facility

This document describes the requirements to characterize the photon beam temporal characteristics by THz streaking at the SQS scientific instruments of the European XFEL. Efficient laser-based THz generation and characterization, temporal resolution of THz streaking, and corresponding requirements are demonstrated.
