Abstract

In this contribution we present an analysis of electron trajectories in the three dimensional magnetic field from a planar undulator. The differential equations of motion are analytically solved by means of a perturbation theory approach, and the expressions for the electrons trajectories are derived, without recourse to averaging over the undulator period. All small terms up to the third order inclusive are obtained. Analytically calculated trajectories are in excellent agreement with those computed numerically by the specially written code.
